🚨 5 Signs that suggest you may need a need anew Bathroom Remodel 🚨 Bathroom remodels can be a significant investment, but there are certain signs that indicate it may be time to update your bathroom. 🔘Outdated Fixtures and Design: One of the most obvious signs that it's time for a bathroom remodel is if your fixtures and design feel outdated. If your bathroom still has old-fashioned brass fixtures, bright or outdated tiles, or is sporting wallpaper from the 80s, it's probably time for a refresh. A remodel can transform an outdated bathroom into a stylish and functional space that better suits your taste and lifestyle. 🔘Limited Storage: If your bathroom feels cluttered and disorganized due to limited storage, it may be time for a remodel. A bathroom remodel can create custom storage solutions that allow you to keep your space organized, tidy, and free of clutter. You can add cabinets, shelves, and other storage options that will help maximize your bathroom space. 🔘Safety Issues: A bathroom remodel may be necessary if your bathroom poses safety issues. This can include outdated electrical wiring or fixtures, slippery floors, and inadequate lighting. A remodel can address these safety issues, making your bathroom a safer and more functional space for you and your family. 🔘Water Damage: Water damage can occur in bathrooms due to leaks, mold, or mildew. If you notice water stains or musty odors, it may be time for a bathroom remodel. A remodel can address water damage issues and provide solutions to prevent future water damage. 🔘Inadequate Functionality: If your bathroom feels cramped, has a poor layout, or lacks essential features, it may be time for a remodel. A remodel can improve the functionality of your bathroom by creating a more spacious and efficient layout, adding a larger shower or bathtub, or installing new features such as double sinks or a bidet. In conclusion, a bathroom remodel can improve the appearance, functionality, and safety of your bathroom. If you notice any of the signs mentioned above, it may be time to consider a remodel. A professional contractor can help you design and implement a new bathroom that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations. . . . #bathroomdecor #bathroomremodel #homeimprovement #hgtv

🚨 SANDED VS NON-SANDED GROUT! 🚨 Which one is right for your project? . . Grout is a crucial component of any tile installation project, as it not only fills the gaps between tiles but also provides stability and durability. When it comes to choosing grout for your project, there are two main options to consider: sanded and nonsanded grout. Both have unique advantages and disadvantages, and choosing the right one depends on various factors, such as the tile size, spacing, and installation location. Sanded Grout: Sanded grout is a cement-based grout that contains fine sand particles, typically ranging in size from 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch. It is recommended for tile installations where the grout lines are larger than 1/8 inch, such as floor tiles, outdoor tiles, or shower walls. The sand particles provide additional support to the grout, making it stronger and more resistant to cracking or shrinking. Moreover, sanded grout is available in a wide range of colors, making it easy to match with any tile color or pattern. Advantages of sanded grout: Provides more strength and durability to the grout, especially in high-traffic areas Can withstand heavy loads and foot traffic Offers better resistance to water and moisture, making it suitable for wet areas such as showers and pools Available in a wide range of colors to match any tile color or pattern Disadvantages of sanded grout: Not recommended for use with delicate or polished tiles, as the sand particles can scratch the surface Can be difficult to apply and clean, as the sand particles tend to stick to the surface Can cause issues with efflorescence, which is a white powdery residue that forms on the grout surface due to excess moisture or mineral deposits Non-Sanded Grout: Nonsanded grout, also known as unsanded grout, is a cement-based grout that does not contain sand particles. It is recommended for tile installations where the grout lines are less than 1/8 inch, such as backsplashes, bathroom walls, and mosaics. Nonsanded grout is easier to apply and clean than sanded grout, as it does not contain abrasive particles that can scratch delicate surfaces. Advantages of nonsanded grout: Ideal for use with delicate or polished tiles, as it does not contain abrasive particles that can scratch the surface Easier to apply and clean than sanded grout Less likely to cause issues with efflorescence than sanded grout Provides a smooth and consistent finish Disadvantages of nonsanded grout: Not as strong or durable as sanded grout, especially in high-traffic areas Can shrink and crack over time, particularly if exposed to water or moisture Limited color options compared to sanded grout In conclusion, the choice between sanded and nonsanded grout depends on the specific needs of your tile installation project. If you are installing large floor tiles or working in a wet area, sanded grout is likely the better option due to its strength and durability. However, if you are working with delicate or polished tiles or have smaller grout lines, nonsanded grout is the way to go for a smooth and consistent finish. Regardless of which grout you choose, proper installation and maintenance are crucial to ensure a long-lasting and beautiful tile installation.

🚨🚨🚨TILE INSTALLERS DON'T NEED A LICENSE ⁉😱 The answer is NO... Tile installers in Illinois do not require a license to work. First, it's important to understand that licensing requirements vary from state to state. In some states, tile installation is considered a trade that requires a license, while in others it's considered a skill that can be learned without official certification. In Illinois, tile installation is not considered a regulated trade, so there is no requirement for installers to hold a license. This may come as a surprise to some people, especially since other trades like plumbing and electrical work do require a license. However, the difference is that plumbing and electrical work involve the installation and maintenance of systems that have the potential to cause harm if done improperly. Tile installation, on the other hand, is a relatively straightforward process that does not pose the same level of risk. That being said, just because tile installers in Illinois are not required to have a license, it doesn't mean that they are not required to be skilled or knowledgeable in their trade. Tile installation requires a certain level of expertise and attention to detail, and it's important to choose an installer who is experienced and reputable. So, how can you ensure that you're hiring a qualified tile installer? Here are a few tips: Ask for references. A reputable installer should be able to provide you with a list of satisfied customers who can attest to their workmanship. Look at their portfolio. A professional installer will have a portfolio of their work that you can review to get an idea of their style and level of skill. Check for insurance. Make sure the installer you choose is insured in case of any accidents or damage during the installation process. Read reviews. Online reviews can be a great way to get an idea of the installer's reputation and the quality of their work. In conclusion, tile installers in Illinois do not require a license to work. However, it's important to choose a skilled and experienced installer who can provide you with a high-quality installation that you'll be happy with for years to come. By following these tips, you can find a reputable tile installer who will help bring your home renovation project to life.

Large Format Tiles 🆚 Subway Tiles 💰 Budget?.. 🔨 Durability?.. 📈 Popularity? Whether you're looking to update the look of your kitchen or bathroom, the choice of tile style is a major decision. Large format and subway tiles are two popular options, each with unique advantages. Large format tiles are often used to create a modern, minimalist look, as they have fewer grout lines and create the appearance of a more expansive space. On the other hand, subway tiles are small, rectangular tiles that often feature a glossy finish. They are characterized by their classic, timeless look and are often used in traditional or vintage-style spaces. When it comes to installation, large-format tiles are usually easier to install than subway tiles. This is because subway tiles require more precise cuts and alignment, as the grout lines need to be even and precise. However, large format tiles are heavier and require sturdier surfaces for installation. In terms of durability, both large-format tiles and subway tiles are resilient and long-lasting. Large format tiles have fewer grout lines, which means less vulnerability to damage, while subway tiles are known for their glossy finish and crack-resistant properties. Finally, when it comes to cost, subway tiles are usually the more affordable option. Large format tiles tend to be more expensive due to their size and weight and the additional labor involved in the installation. Overall, the choice between large format tiles and subway tiles comes down to personal preference. Both tile styles offer a variety of benefits and can be used to create a variety of looks. Consider your budget, the room's size, and desired aesthetic when deciding which tile style is right for you.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH ANGI/HOME ADVISOR!!! UNPOPULAR OPINION... Angi and Home Advisor are under the same parent company. I joined their lead generating service called Angi Leads. They get a lot of bad rep, and for good reason, but I've decided to make the best of it under my current circumstances. I started my business 6 months ago, after quitting my job as a tile installer. I was tired of my current work life at the time more than anything and decided to quit despite not having more than 2 jobs scheduled ahead. After I completed the first two jobs, I joined Angi Leads. They convinced me after giving me a free $400 lead credit and the ability to cancel at any time. The first month after signing on was a success. However, my business relationship with them started to go sour after I kept getting lead after lead of people who just weren't at all serious about hiring me. I should mention, you pay for every lead regardless if you close the job or not, and the lead is also sent to other contractors in the are so you have to be fast to contact and competitive as well. Despite the bad leads, I still managed to get jobs for the first few months, so many in fact, that I decided it was time to cancel my membership. After connecting with some great clients and a general contractor that hires us to this day, I thought I was set. Life was great. I decided Im going to run ads and get my own leads. I put in a couple thousand bucks in the ads and got zero return. I admittedly just was not experienced enough to start my own ad campaign. We spent weeks without working, and it seemed like my great adventure in Entrepreneurship had come to a screeching halt. That is until I was advised by the contractor we met through Angi Leads, to just turn the leads back on and rely on competitive pricing and ove-delivering to create a good base of organic referrals and thats how we would start to cash flow again. Fast forward to today, and were running the business completely off of Angi Leads and some organic website traffic through google. So, despite the bad rep, and problematic practices of Home Advisor and Angi, they've helped out my small business and Im thankful. Probably an unpopular opinion.

HERE'S MY EXPERIENCE USING THIS CRM SOFTWARE "JOBBER" 1.Customer service so far has been great. They are still not as big as other softwares like housecall pro for example, but they offer the same services at fairly similar prices, and though I cant comment on Housecall pro's customer service, I feel that since they are smaller right now, their service is a lot more personalized. 2. It is a huge time saver. Client databases allow for multiple jobs to be created and organized under one person, and automatically generates electronic invoices for each job. You can Personalize your interactions with your customers to automatically send updates and confirm appointments and job dates. It has allowed me to run my business solo so far, and has let me focus on other areas that are just as important as customer relations. 3. It gives you room to grow. They offer different plans at different prices for companies at different stages of their growth. They reserve various features for the higher upgraded plans like the amount of users that can access the software, gps tracking for multiple vehicles, route optimization, individual team member assignments and a few more. This is not a sponsored post whatsoever. I just feel that a lot of companies in our community fail to implement softwares in their early stages, which slows down or at least doesn't speed up their growth. Working with various business owners in the area over the years has allowed me to see that more than anything, these business owners lack the knowledge of how easy it is to implement such softwares and have the misconception that it is something too advanced for them to be able to handle. Many people see success in our community far greater than any that I've seen in my short journey as an entrepreneur so far, and I know that if they were to take advantage of these systems, our community would grow so much. Vinyl vs Laminate Differences I have noticed as a professional installer 1. Both very easy to install. As a professional, we sell the time we save you, not the skills necessarily. Almost anyone with a common knowledge of tools can install either of these with no prior experience. It will just take a lot longer, A LOT. 2.Wear and tear better than wood. Good for homes with pets or messy kids. 3.NOT WATERPROOF. The surface of these materials can resist water, but in case of a major water leak or flooding, this material stand no chance when water gets underneath it. Multiple times we have been called in to replace an area with these materials. Tile works best for areas with high risk of water damage. (basements, laundry rooms).

First ever video, in my first ever project under The Last Floor LLC. What a journey it's been. Sleepless nights, mornings full of doubt, but consistency is key and the small wins make it all worth it. The first job I ever had was at 11 years old. An actual job, washing dishes in a restaurant kitchen 1hr away from my house. From the very first time I walked away with my $60 check after a full weekend of work, I knew there had to be another way. Entrepreneurship has allowed me to see a path for financial freedom while curing my inner child at the same time. I hope one day I get to show others the way out of poverty. I know that in order to do that I need to find great success for myself first. So here's to a 2023 full of lessons and growth. Here's to getting one step closer to success, not only for myself, but for those that are closest to me, and for all of my community. Happy New Year

Carpets Are BAD! Time to start thinking of a switch. ***5 REASONS CARPETS ARE THE WORST!*** People get carpet installed with the hopes of warmth and softness when walking barefoot, but here's what you're really getting. 1. TRAPS YOUR EVERYDAY FILTH Carpet traps air pollutants like Pollen, fungi, chemicals, cigarette smoke, and may other organisms you come across in your everyday life. 2. CAN TRIGGER ASTHMA SYMPTOMS, EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE ASTHMA! Since it traps all those particles and dust mites, carpet is an asthmatic's worst nightmare. Long exposure to old and dirty carpets can lead to serious health problems, even. in healthy people. 3. HEAVY MAINTENANCE Carpets require maintenance because they can hold up to four times their weight in dirt before it start becoming visible. It is recommended to vacuum your carpet at least twice a week and to get your carpet professionally cleaned TWICE a year, which can be an extremely expensive service for some. 4. UNHEALTHY FOR BABIES Some people believe that letting a toddler roam around on their carpet is ideal because of the warmth and comfort for the baby. However, babies are the most susceptible to getting ill from their prolonged contact with the filth and bacteria found in carpet. 5. YOUR PET OR YOUR CARPET? WHICH DO YOU PREFER? If you have a pet, you should not have carpet. It is a nearly impossible task to keep track of your pets 100% of the time. They will drool, they will pee and they will defecate on your carpet if left unsupervised. Not to mention the simple fact that, all the dirt they encounter during their time outdoors, will transfer straight to your carpet when it's time for a nap. CONCLUSION... Think about these reasons before choosing to install carpet in your house. A better alternative would be tile, (ceramic, porcelain, or stone). The more modern and affordable option would be laminate or luxury vinyl planks. Tile can be set on top of heating systems that will give you the warm barefoot feeling you desire. Sound a little out of budget? Luxury vinyl planks can be installed over a moisture, sound, and temperature barrier that will ensure your floor never reach below room temperature. FOR ANY ONE OF THESE ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS, CONTACT: "THE LAST FLOOR" (618)419-2379 OR DM US ON MESSENGER FOR A FREE CONSULTATION, FREE QUOTE AND FREE ESTIMATE. 4.
